Emotional & Mental Wellbeing (EMW) coaching
Feel heard. Understand yourself. Move forward with purpose.
Sometimes, life feels difficult to make sense of.
You may feel overwhelmed, unheard, or out of place. You might question your abilities, worry about other people’s opinions, or feel unsure about your next step.
You do not need to have the right words—or a clear goal—before reaching out.
At AïeLEAD, Emotional & Mental Wellbeing (EMW) coaching offers a welcoming space to explore what you are experiencing, recognise your strengths, and develop practical ways to move forward.
One-to-one coaching at your pace
Space to explore what matters to you
At a pace that feels comfortable for you
Our experiences can influence how we see ourselves, respond to challenges, and relate to others. Sometimes, beliefs and habits that once helped us cope no longer serve us well.
Through thoughtful conversation and guided activities, we explore these patterns together, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
The aim is to help you understand your experience, consider new perspectives, and choose meaningful next steps.
You remain an active partner throughout the process. Your voice, preferences, and goals help shape our work together.
When EMW may help
You may be looking for support because you:
- Feel overwhelmed by expectations, change, or everyday pressures.
- Struggle with confidence or frequently doubt yourself.
- Feel misunderstood, excluded, or unable to express your needs.
- Find everyday worries or fears are affecting your choices.
- Want to respond to difficult feelings more constructively.
- Feel uncertain about your direction, purpose, or what matters to you.
- Are experiencing bullying or its lasting effects and want support to feel heard, rebuild confidence, and identify safe ways to seek help.
- Want to move towards a goal but keep finding yourself held back.
You may also simply want time to reflect and grow.
EMW particularly welcomes teenagers, young adults, and adults navigating personal challenges or transitions. For younger children, sessions are adapted through games and age-appropriate activities, with a focus on understanding feelings, responding to frustration, and developing helpful behaviours.

A personal approach, guided by Lara
Sessions are led by Lara Khneisser
Lara is the AïeLEAD founder, an educator, and a trained New Generation NLP practitioner. She brings more than 20 years of educational experience and a commitment to helping people feel listened to and understood.
Her coaching draws on conversation, reflection, goal setting, and techniques from her NLP training. Activities are selected collaboratively, according to your goals, preferences, and the scope of coaching.
What happens in a session?
There is a consistent rhythm to our work, with room to respond to what you need that day
1
Begin with connection
We start with a friendly conversation to help you settle in.
During discovery, we explore what has brought you here and what you would like support with. In later sessions, we check in on how you have been and anything you have noticed since we last met.
There is no pressure to share everything at once.
2
Explore your experience
Through questions and reflection, we look at the situations, feelings, and beliefs that matter to you.
You may be invited to make a few notes, explore a recurring response, or consider what a particular experience means to you.
Together, we identify a focus for the session.
3
Try a guided activity
Guided visualisation is a central tool in Lara’s approach. Where appropriate, you may be invited to imagine a situation, explore a different perspective, or mentally rehearse a response you would like to practise.
Every exercise is explained beforehand and involves your agreement. You can ask questions, pause, or stop at any point.
If visualisation does not suit you, we can discuss alternatives such as writing, conversation, drawing, or practical activities. We will also be honest about whether this coaching approach is a suitable fit.
4
Choose a meaningful next step
We finish by identifying a manageable action connected to your goal.
This might involve practising a strategy, noticing a pattern, expressing a need, or taking a small step towards something important to you.
The intention is to bring reflection into everyday life.
5
Review and adapt
At your next session, we explore what you tried, what you noticed, and what support you need next.
Your experiences guide the next steps. Goals and activities can change as your understanding develops.
What we work towards
Your goals are personal
Depending on what brings you to coaching, we may work towards:
- A clearer understanding of your feelings, values, and needs.
- Greater confidence in expressing yourself.
- Practical strategies for responding to everyday worries and pressures.
- More helpful ways of approaching challenges.
- A stronger sense of direction.
- Manageable steps towards meaningful goals.
Progress looks different for everyone. We review it together, using the changes that matter in your daily life.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number for everyone
After discovery, we discuss an initial plan based on your goals and the support you are seeking. We agree on review points to consider what is helping and whether to continue, adjust the approach, or explore another form of support.
Between-session practice is agreed together, taking account of your circumstances.
Trust, privacy, and family involvement
Before coaching begins, we explain confidentiality
We explain how information is handled, and the circumstances in which information may need to be shared.
Younger children
Parents or carers are involved in agreeing goals and understanding how to support progress at home. A report at the end of the agreed sessions summarises progress and recommendations.
Teenagers
We agree appropriate family involvement from the outset, taking account of their understanding, consent, and needs. Routine updates focus on agreed goals, progress, and useful support while respecting their privacy.
Adults
Family involvement is by agreement, subject to the same explained limits of confidentiality.
Safeguarding
If there is a safeguarding concern or another requirement to share information, relevant information may need to be passed to appropriate people. Where safe and appropriate, we explain this to the young person first.
Finding the right kind of support
EMW is a coaching service for personal development, emotional awareness, confidence, everyday coping, and direction.
It does not provide diagnosis or replace counselling, psychological therapy, or medical care. Where anxiety, a phobia, or another difficulty needs specialist assessment or treatment, we discuss an appropriate referral.
Lara draws on safeguarding training from her educational work, continues her professional learning, and has arrangements with counsellors and psychologists for specialist input or referral when needed. Any consultation involving personal information follows the agreed confidentiality arrangements and applicable safeguarding requirements.
